The Maintenance Controller maximize safe and compliant aircraft availability by coordinating with other functions in Mission Control on all maintenance related events and by managing aircraft maintenance through effective management of people, parts, processes and costs to execute seamless outcomes. A Maintenance Controller at Aeronux Airways must demonstrate a range of behavioral competencies to a high level and want to use these to the full extent when they work. May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change when circumstances dictate (emergencies, changes in workload, rush jobs, technical developments, etc). 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maximize safe and compliant aircraft availability by managing all mechanical issues that may affect the daily operation of company aircraft (unplanned maintenance).
  • Coordinate with mechanics, contract vendors, OEM Service Centers and other Mission Control crew members to execute the best course of action to get the aircraft back into service.
  • Determine if discrepancies are eligible for deferral using the approved MEL/NEF guidelines.
  • Manage performance of on-duty lead maintenance technicians and/or maintenance technicians by assigning and managing work for safety, quality, effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Identify growth/development and performance improvement needs and coach effectively.
  • Participate in the selection, promotion and performance reviews, development planning and discipline of maintenance technicians and lead technicians develop talent and improve results and productivity.
  • MELs are cleared effectively, quickly and always before their due date by ordering the required part(s) and tracking MELs in the Aeronux Airways’ Electronic Tracking Program.
  • All maintenance activities and aircraft discrepancies are appropriately recorded and documented.
  • Chronic/repeat issues are lessened and aircraft availability is improved by correctly identifying the issues and creating processes and plans that effectively address them.

Functional Competencies:

  • Expertise in applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR™s), General Operation Manuals, and MEL™s
  • Experience in the use of maintenance reference materials including Manufacturer's Maintenance Manuals, Structural Repair Manuals, Illustrated Parts Catalogs, Component Manuals, etc.
  • Must be proficient in spreadsheet, word documents and other office software.

Required Education & Experience:

  • 3 years Maintenance Controller experience
  • 5 Year industry experience (aircraft maintenance/technical operations) with a Part 121 or 135 operator
  • Current Passport

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • 5+ years Maintenance Controller experience

Basic Requirements:

  • Ability to work 10 or 12 hour shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to travel on occasion if required. Intermittent physical activity including bending, reaching and prolonged periods of sitting. Ability to occasionally lift 5-20 pounds

Licenses Designations:

  • Violation free A & P Certificate required
